Incredibly fast and efficient. They weren't able to process the renewal due to lease but out paperwork (a DMV error) but explained what was happening and what I needed to do. Got there at 8:15 am, my paper says 2min wait, but I was in/out of the test in probably 2 total minutes. Kind and knowledgeable staff.

I visited the Illinois Air Team Emission Test Center today (Monday) and for the most part had a good experience. There were only three cars ahead of me, and from the moment I arrived to the completion of the emission test, it took less than 10 minutes. Additionally, I was able to purchase a new plate sticker on-site, which took about 10 minutes of waiting. The center also facilitated the order for new plates, adding to the convenience of the visit. The only aspect that could be improved was the attitude of the staff. A more pleasant and friendly demeanor would have made the experience even better. Despite this, the overall efficiency and convenience of the service were good.

I went in to get a smog check, unfortunately California is one of like 3 states that won't accept out of state smog checks so screw my home state. However, the people there were very efficient and friendly for the most part so definitely would recommend this smog check location if you want fast and easy checks. Didn't cost a dime if you were an in state plate, does cost you 20 for out of state though so make sure you know your states policy before coming in!

Let's be real, no one enjoys getting this done, but if you drive a car you'll probably have to do this at some point. This is only the second time I've had to do this in my life, as my very old car was technically my dad's so he would take it in, and then I had my former car tested once before I traded it in in 2020, so alas it's my not-so-new car's turn for a test. Because this was only my second time doing this and the last time was like 7 years ago, I didn't really know what I was doing. But, it was painless. Despite the notice I got in the mail saying "don't go on a weekend or at the end of the month to avoid longer lines", I went 20 minutes before they closed on a Saturday on the second to last Saturday of the month. Even so, they had all the stations open and were very efficient. Maybe 10 minutes total, which isn't bad at all. I remember my dad used to complain about going to take our old cars in at the Aurora center and it taking like 45 minutes to an hour of waiting. The older gentleman who tested my car was very nice and cheery, probably because it was so close to quittin' time :)
